Opening Doors Campaign – Call for Action “Ending the Era of Institutional Care in Europe”

Opening Doors for Europe’s Children Campaign, in which FICE Austria is a partner, has released the Call for Action “Ending the Era of Institutional Care in Europe” . The Call for Action was released on the occasion of celebrating the 1st June - International Children’s Day and the Global Parent’s Day. In the Call for Action, Opening Doors Campaign, as a coalition representing 124 civil society organisations, highlighted three key demands to the European Union in their preparation of the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), in particular the post-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) and the External Action Financing Instruments:

1. Strengthen existing ex-ante conditionality on the transition from institutional to community based care

2. Promote appropriate allocation and spending of EU funds for deinstitutionalisation reforms

3. Improve implementation of the European Code of Conduct on Partnership
