Study visit of FICE BiH to FICE Austria

FICE Austria together with TG hosted a three-day study visit on September 26th – 29th , for representatives from FICE Bosnia and Herzegovina (FICE BiH) and NGO My Future from the town of Bihac. The two organizations are currently in a preparation phase for the establishment of the Center for Emergency Care/ Crisis Center for traumatized children and youth. The aim of the visit was acquiring more knowledge and better understanding on the “crisis center concept” and how it is implemented in Austria.

During their stay, the colleagues from Bosnia had a chance to visit several crisis centers’ operated by Kidnest, Therapeutische Gemeinschaften and MAG Elf of the City of Vienna and to exchange with professionals working with a great enthusiasm to approach this problem. The guests from Bosnia highlighted they have acquired a significant first-hand knowledge on how to deal with ambiguities and challenges they face during the preparation of the entire program in their own country.

Further cooperation of FICE Austria, FICE Switzerland, FICE BiH and their respective NGO members who are dealing with the issue of crisis centers was agreed.

In this regard, creation of a joint consortium was foreseen and a provisional schedule of activities by Christmas was discussed.
