Jugendbegegnungen

60 young adults from 15 world countries gathered together in the project of FICE Austria "Be the change!"  and created Declaration with 10 standards for care leavers.

The project took place in Vienna from 17th to 25th August 2016. Young adults who have been living in alternative care and are now in the to an independent life exchanged their experiences and created Declaration with 10 standards for care leavers.

The Declaration was presented on 33rd FICE Congress and 2nd CYC World Conference on 22nd and 23rd August 2016 in several occasions: as a part of opening, as independent 90 minutes session and as part of closing of second day. Declaration was official accepted by FICE and CYC representatives on the Congress.

Young adults and 20 adults who supported them during their work continued disseminating Declaration in their own countries. For this story we can totally say...will continue :)

The project is financed by EU programme ERASMUS+, FICE International, organisation TIPITI, UNICEF Austria and many other sposors

FICE Austria participated as a partner for the third consecutive year in the Youth Exchange project, led by Dutch organization Kinderperspectief in a framework of Erasmus + program. A group composed of 18 young people with a life in care experience, between the ages of 16 and 25 years, from Bosnia, Croatia, Netherlands, Austria and Serbia met for one week for the European youth exchange. The aim of the exchange was to present the youth with an opportunity to set their own life changing goals that will enable them to take control of their lives and be less dependent on the youth care system in the future. The Youth Exchange week took place on May 16 – 22 in Tribunj, Croatia. More information through Day and Week reports, written by the participants, could be found here:   Day report YouthExchange and Week Report YouthExchange the Next Step May 2016 Tribunje

From 11th to 18th October, 2014 Kinder perspectiev organized, together with FICE Austria a youth exchange in Tribunj, Croatia.
The 14 young people were from Albania, Croatia, Austria and the Netherlands, all of whom live in child welfare or have a minimum of 2 years' experience in child welfare.
The theme of the week was: Yes, We Rock!, a symbolic way of saying that you must be strong when you are 18 years old in child welfare.
At that age you become namely seen as mature and it's expected from you to live on yourself. The week was therefore fully on this subject (leaving care).
The goal was to give all young people involved a positive boost: to know more about yourself, your skills and your dreams at the end of the week.
